Ketron has once again taken a leap forward in music technology in producing a multi-format audio player that can also be used as a live performance MIDI sound module - with drums and auto rhythm accompaniment! Sound too good to be true? Read on...

The Ketron MiDJay can play audio files in Wave (CD) and MP3 formats direct from the hard drive. 2 x MIDI file players handle digital songs with an auto cross fade for instant playback. This means you can select songs on the hard drive in any of these formats and fade them in and out as required. Wave and MIDI formats also feature a transpose and lead mute function. For really slick performance save any mix of these formats in a "10 Song Play List" for instant play by pressing the 10 buttons under the display - each button will play a song from the play list. Many complete play lists can then be stored and recalled from the 20 GByte hard drive. Imagine how good that is for theater productions, etc.?

For live performance connect any MIDI controller instrument to play the beautifully sampled sounds (over 300 voices). Add drums (22 drum kits to choose from and 72 live drum sounds). As if that wasn't enough, you can then choose from 128 backing arrangement styles all with intro, 4 variations, fill, break, and ending to complete the one man band live performance.

DJ's who want to create their own sound will find a wealth of exceptional features in the Ketron MiDJay with DJ loops. These wave file loops (drums, sound effects etc.) can be mixed into a song or played independently, many are included and extras can be added. The sound experience, as with all creative skills, lies in the imagination of the user - totally unrestricted by the Ketron MiDJay.

We hear from existing owners of Ketron MiDJay's that by experimenting, they have pushed the performance envelope way beyond expectation by using the hard drive as multi-track recorder with time stretch sampling ability. Don't ask us how this is done, it's beyond our knowledge, but sounds interesting.
