For the High frequencies there are two 1.75" planar wave drivers in one LA3 Line Array cabinet responsible. One driver has 16Ohm. The two drivers are connected parallel so the High impedance of a LA3 is also 8Ohms. The two High frequency drivers are working in one Fiberglas horn with a directivity of vertical 10° and horizontal 90°. Each LA3 has a passive crossover and is switchable passive/bi-amp. This switch is located at the connecting panel on the rearside of the cabinet. The connecting panel is equipped with two parallel 8pin Speakons, two parallel 4pin Speakons and one switch for passive/bi-amp mode. The 4pin connectors are for the passive mode and the 8pin connectors are for the bi-amp mode. For the development of the LA3 it was very important to design the construction exactly under the terms of the Line Array physics. There are two most important rules of the Line Array physics. First: The drivers should be located very close together in the upright position. Second: The vertical directivity should be very small. Only when the cabinets are designed close to this regularities there is possible to get a cylindrical wave of the Line Array configuration. The LA3 has two 1.75" drivers by a height of the construction of only 298mm and a vertical directivity of 10°. The LA3 is perfect designed and has the best presuppositions for a long range of transmission and perfect sound quality. LAS3 system brochure englisch
