The B81 is specially designed for Live Events, Open Air´s and so on. The B81 is equipped with a high power 18" Precision Devices speaker. The dimensions of the B81 with (D/W/H) 60cm/50cm/70cm are very small for a 18" hornloaded bass cabinet.

The 18" driver works backwards into a closed compression area with a defined Volume V1, forward works the 18" driver in a further defined Volume V2. There is a stub horn coupled to the Volume V2. The Volume V1 and V2 works as a acoustic resonating circuit and the 18" speaker is the generator for it. This construction does not provide very low sub frequencies but a clear, dynamic and powerful sound by 60Hz and higher. The limiting frequency could be obvious substantial lower by using more B81 speaker cabinets. The big edge of the B81 is extreme high sound pressure and power capacity by small dimensions.

PSE recommend one SM1220 amplifier in bridged mode for two B81 bass cabinets. The B81 is made of birch multi-ply like all other PSE cabinets . In the lid of the housing of a B81 there is a tripod mounting bracket for a distance pipe for a High/Mid speaker cabinet. The speaker, the tripod mounting bracket and the rubber foots are fixed with metrical screws. On a special customer request all PSE bass cabinets are available with mounting and/or flying points.
